Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Safety issues related to operating and monitoring oil system plant are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and legislative requirements
   • Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures from appropriate personnel and documentation
   • Documentation to determine oil system plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Inspection, preoperational checks and field preparations for oil system service are carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Oil system plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Sequence for recommissioning of oil system plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
2. Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures from appropriate personnel and documentation
3. Documentation to determine oil system plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Inspection, preoperational checks and field preparations for oil system service are carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
5. Oil system plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations

7. Operate oil systemplant
   • Oil system plant is operated, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' operating recommendations
8. Oil system plant is monitored and observed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to detect deviations from normal operating conditions
9. Corrective actions are taken, to rectify oil system plant abnormalities, in accordance with workplace procedures, industry standards and site requirements
10. Oil system plant is removed from service, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
11. Test oil systemplant operation
    • Operational tests are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Oil systems plant is observed for correct operational response, in accordance with workplace procedures
13. Corrective action is taken when response does not meet with documentation, oil system plant integrity or personnel safety requirements
14. Oil system plant is returned to required operational status upon completion of testing, in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Analyse oil systemplant faults
    • Causes of abnormal oil system plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, and by analysing technical and operational information
16. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
17. Oil system plant integrity and personnel safety is maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, and by consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
18. Monitor and inspect oil systemplant
    • Oil system plant to be monitored and/or inspected is physically identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Oil system plant is monitored and/or inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures, to detect deviations from normal operating conditions
20. Appropriate personnel are notified when defects are detected, in accordance with workplace procedures
21. Complete documentation
    • Oil system plant problems, movements, abnormalities and status are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
22. Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
